Amador T. Daguio:The Wedding Dance

Amador T. Daguio in that story shows to us an example of a Filipino culture: the story narrates about a patriarchal society- wherein men dominates. For me, i can say that the story was sad in the sense that the two lovers were being departed because of thier culture & tradition even if they love each other. At the same time the story was also unfair to us-girls in the sense that men could leave us anytime if his needs were not met. Like what happen to Lumnay in the story, Awiyao her husband leaves her because they coud not bare a child. So, base on that, the only job of  female in that story is to produce an offspring & if she can't do that her husband could leave her because it is against/does not base on thier culture. Because base on thier culture, if men cannot have a child he could be inferior to other men & for that reason we-women were being abandon!
Generally, in that story Amador T. Daguio is trying to tell us that one culture could affect one's feeling, decession and LIVING.

Jose Garcia Villa"Footnote to youth"

The story was all about the two young lovers who decided to get married at their young age, with out thinking of the consequences of what they did.As they go on with their lives, they've realized how hard it is to be a young parent. And time has come that their son decided to marry at his young age also, like what his parents experienced in the past.I like how Jose Garcia Villa presented it, in the sense that it reflects on REALITY. The story brought to us-youth many lessons;like we should not rush things, we should follow our parents because our parents knows what is best for us. We should think always of  what would be the consequences if we would gonna make a certain things.
Jose Garcia Villa in that story, simply tells us that we should be wise in making decessions because  one decession could make a LIFETIME CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nick Joaquin's:The Summer Solstice

The story was all about a" woman sadistically subduing his husband to her will".I did like very much the story in the sense that in the story we-women rule over men.Nick Joaquin portrays or have shown their:that women could be superior to men.I like the scene wherein Doña Lupeng was able to made Don Paeng crawl on the floor as what she wanted him to do.Because we all know(those who read the story)what kind of a husband Don Paeng is, he was a highly moral person. He wants all the time that his rules/decision would be follow. And with that scene , its only a proof that not all the time in a woman's life they could live in the shadow of their husband or could be inferior/under by man.
Generally, I view the story as a victory of women!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
